The atmosphere can change. You could have a quiet bar with locals or an upbeat young crowd or an all out craze. The karaoke machine is awesome, it's both background music and your moment to shine. The gals behind the counter are sweet and are great servers. Be careful though! Some of the shots can be upwards of $14 if they're not well drinks etc. But the girls will let you know that. Their speciality shots are reeeeeaaaally good. You wanna get fucked up, have a Hawaiian punch. Haha If you're actually just looking for a place to sit down and have a drink or two with friends and to hangout, this is an awesome place. They dont serve food anymore, but you can bring some munchies in yourself and they won't mind. Oh and you should hear some of the girls sing. :p Will be back for more!

Winnie's is amazing! My office and I visited for karaoke and beverages upon the invitation from a coworker - what a blast! The decor is so kitschy and the vibe is very welcoming. Mixed drinks were delicious - and many many loving thanks to such fun and friendly bartenders (Yay Denise!) who put up with our dance routines and singing. I can't wait to return for more - this being my first real bar experience.

Old school. My kind of place. The staff is awesome except for Q. She can be a pain. Tell her Teddy sent you. This is my default bar not out of convenience, but out of necessity. People are straight up and no bullshit. Don't come in here and be an ass because you will be treated like one no offense. I mean what would you expect? To me this place is one of Chinatown's treasures. A relic not because it is old, but because of the no nonsense atmosphere. I'm not a fan of screaming drunk wannabe hipsters, and this place certainly will not be full of them. I've forged many friendships here through the years, and will continue to frequent this establishment.

Went to Winnie's by myself, stayed for hours, had several cocktails, met dozens of fun people and sang a load of karaoke at $1 per song. Had a blast! Drinks were expensive, but hey, it's New York. Oh, and the chive dumplings were delicious!

I enjoying my time at Winnie's way too much for my own good. If you think about it, it is a pretty sweet deal for only $1 per song. Especially if you have a large group of people getting together, you can kind of take over. There was a young man and woman working there at the time and they were really nice and willing to help with anything we needed. My drink was very good, I had the $9 Hawaiian Punch. I saw the bartender put at least ten kinds of alcohol in it before handing it over, and the drink was very large and lasted me a good hour or more. You can buy food and bring it in the bar, or get delivery. But, in Chinatown is it more fun to go out to eat before or afterwards, like we did. Some people complained about the song selection, but I love the 80's so it was not a problem for me to find plenty of stuff to sing. There are no effects or delay on the microphones so you either sing well or you don't here. You can also create your own effects by cupping the mic in different ways to make your voice smoother.
